Save-A-Senior
As you know, $100 does not buy what it used to. Currently, $100 is about equal to: a little more than a tank and ½ of gas in an SUV; dinner for two (depending on where you go…) and maybe a movie; a haircut and color in a beauty salon, etc. Somehow, the value of the dollar these days appears less significant as it relates to quantity. Therefore, many have arrived at the conclusion that the value of a dollar donated to a charitable cause is equal to the value of a dollar spent on the routine daily activities in which most of us take part.
Many of you are familiar with the sense of gratification that comes from knowing that you have helped meet the immediate need of a deprived person. The satisfaction of helping others is a precious gift in return for a good deed.
Desert Samaritans for Seniors is pleased to offer to you the opportunity to take the value of $100 and stretch it significantly! Whether you wish to contribute through your business or as an individual, for as little as a $100 donation per senior citizen per month you can help many disadvantaged seniors in our community to receive groceries delivered to their door bi-weekly. Cash Gift*
Gifts of cash are the simplest and most convenient way of making a contribution
to Desert Samaritans for Seniors.

Tribute Gifts*
Contributions to Desert Samaritans for Seniors can be made in memory of a
loved one or in honor of a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. Upon
receipt of your gift, an acknowledgement note will be sent to you, as well as
the person you are honoring.

Securities*
You may find it more beneficial to give securities, particularly those that have
appreciated in value. Appreciated securities, if sold, will result in a taxable
gain. By making a gift of securities that have been held at least 12 months to
Desert Samaritans for Seniors, you receive a double tax benefit – you avoid
capital gains tax on the appreciation, and you receive a charitable income tax
deduction for the full fair market value of the assets.

purchases and products designed specifically to support our mission.
