Desert Samaritans is looking for volunteers who would be willing to distribute newsletter to Senior Centers and community locations throughout the valley.

Desert Samaritans is looking for volunteers to follow-up with our seniors we have helped through our programs. The volunteers will compile information from the seniors on how our assistance helped their situation.

Desert Samaritans for the Elderly invites you to participate in our effort to change the lives of seniors!

The Volunteers programs were developed to be a resource for seniors to provide them with a steady and reliable source of emotional and practical support. On a regular basis, seniors can receive a brief phone call or visit from a volunteer to keep them in touch with their own needs, help them maintain their lifestyle in their own homes and stay connected to their community.

TRANSPORTATION VOLUNTEER
"Transportation is a major challenge for many Coachella Valley elderly"

Transportation Volunteers drive elderly persons to medical appointments, filling prescriptions, or other health related issues. Seniors often cannot be released from the hospital or nursing homes unless there is someone to drive them home. Transportation Volunteers often meet this and other important "Safety Net" needs. Volunteers use their own vehicle. All rides are at no charge to the senior and the program is supported through grants and donations. Volunteer drivers are always needed, throughout the entire valley.
